- The Third Tuesday Sprint
Host: Holland Amateur Radio Club.
Date:
May 18th, 2010.
The Third Tuesday Sprint Foxhunt will be held on Tuesday evening, April
18, 2010. Gathering time is at 6:30 with the hunt starting at
7:00 promptly. Come at 6:00 if you would like help getting started. We all started at
events just like this one.
THIS IS A BASIC LEVEL HUNT. We have several hams coming back to the
foxhunt game after several years of absense. Our fox, one
or both of the infamous Bosscher team are promising a hunt that will be of the basic
level and similar to the hunt to be run at the IRA hamfest on Saturday, June 5th.
This will be a great opportunity to tune your skills for the IRA event. The hunt starts
promptly at 7:00 pm. Come at 6:00 for help getting
started.
Five tape measure antennas w/built-in attenuators are
available as loaners. (Contact W8DER. Mike@W8DER.Net)
You will only need an HT with a BNC connector or adapter.
Elmers will be at the site starting at 6:00 to give you practice
with one of our Robo-Fox boxes to simulate the fox
transmissions. For the new guys, this will be a great way to
get your feet wet.
- IRA 'Good Old Days' Hamfest 3rd Annual Fox Hunt.
Host: Independent Repeater Association.
Date: June
5th, 2010.
The Independent Repeater Association will once again top off
their Annual Hamfest with a 2-meter foxhunt. In the
fox's lair will be the popular foxhunting team of Sheila
Bosscher (K8AJ) and Tom Bosscher, K8TB. You will find that the
Hudsonville fairgrounds is an interesting location for holding a
foxhunt due to the US196 expressway dividing the hunt area
nearly in half. It makes that first bearing even more
important than normal. A foxhunting seminar on 'Building
A Fox Box' will be held at 12:15 PM and the hunt will start at
1:00 PM just outside the ticket gate.
